The Polar Bear Habitat Staff

Habitat - Bear Holding

This building is key to the health and care of our bears. It is not open to visitors, because of its nature, but can be seen from the Viewing Building. Here, the well-qualified animal care staff prepare food for their residents, monitor their weight and health, and conduct medical examinations with the help of a veterinarian when needed. The area also provides isolation areas and privacy for the bears when they want or need it.

Diet is a key component in the bears' welfare, and every effort is made to ensure that the bears are well-fed and happy. Nutritional standards of care have been researched and established, and are carefully followed. The primary aim is to match, as nearly as possible, the natural and seasonal needs of the bears.
