Behind the Scenes Tour
Join the animal care staff on a guided tour of The Habitat.
Service Description
Meeting at the Welcome Centre, this small group session will give guests a greater understanding of our history, the bears in our care and the work we do here. With access to the private walkway above the viewers building included, you will also have the opportunity to get a bird- eye view of the bears in the Arctic enclosure. Guests will then be taken inside the bear holding building to observe the bears' indoor dens, as well as the areas where their food is prepared, enrichments are made and conservation projects are conducted. Questions are always encouraged during this unique learning experience. NOTE: • We book Behind the Scenes Tours on Monday at 11:00am and Saturday at 1:30pm, every week • To access the private walkway, a steep ladder must be climbed. For safety reasons, children under 12 years old are not permitted on the walkway. Please contact us before booking if you have any accessibility concerns. Availability: Year round Duration: maximum 1 hour Tour Capacity: up to 6 people Age requirement: All ages. However, all participants must be 12 years or older to access the walkway
Tour Experience Policy
As always, we cannot guarantee the behaviour of the bears during these sessions, but can guarantee you a safe, immersive and once in a lifetime experience. All experiences must be booked at least 48hrs in advance. Daily admission is included in the price of each additional experience. CANCELLATION / RESCHEDULING POLICY Cancellations received more than 24 hours before the scheduled Experience will receive a full refund. Contact us to arrange. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled Experience are non-refundable. If you fail to attend the Experience (no-show), no refund will be issued.
